TAKE CARE OF THE YANGTZE RIVER
Here's a poem:
Take care of the Yangtze River
Rivers are beautiful
Or so they
But whenever I see one,
It looks as if it had decayed
The Yangtze River particularly
Held many species insecurely
But now, one of the species are gone
It was as if they have been withdrawn
What am I speaking of?
The Baiji Dolphin of course
Although there are some other species that are close to remorse
“Who would do that?” You might say
Although it’s pretty obvious like the light of the day
It was our fault from the very beginning
Yet we all denied it, and kept on singing
We ignored every single cry from the earth
And pounded on it like it had no worth
Yet the world received no rebirth
So we took it for granted and gave it our worst
Although the Yangtze River wasn’t the only one
That got polluted daily until it was done,
We still shot a river with a gun
And looked at it with all of our shuns
Come on people
Open your eyes
There are rivers here
That are important to our lives
They support wildlife
And carry freshwater
But we still see them
As something that is no broader
What will happen to the Yangtze River?
Who can say
But until then, I guess I’ll have to pray
Pray that one day people will understand
That what we are doing should definitely be banned
