Pollution

The Yangtze River is quite a long river. It's about 3,915 miles. It is also the longest river in Asia, and the third longest river in the world. In the Yangtze River, there are a bunch of species. But most of them are in danger because of how the people treated the river. The Yangtze River is so polluted and many people over fish some of the species for their own benefits.

There are the Three Gorges Dam in the Yangtze River. Although it is a pretty good tourist attraction, it isn't very good for the Yangtze River itself. It pollutes the river, and doesn't benefit the animals in the Yangtze River. The dam tends to harm the animals. The government of China knows about what the Three Gorges Dam is doing, so the government is trying to do something about it.

A big problem is in the Yangtze River however. But it's a problem that almost every river goes through. Pollution, and some other human activities. (That doesn't make pollution a small problem though.) Pollution in the Yangtze River is so bad that one specie literally goes extinct, and several other species are in critical danger. More specific details in Pollution below

Some wondrous species exist in the Yangtze River. But most of them are in a lot of danger because (like mentioned just now) pollution. However, a lot of the species are still able to live, and carry on. More detail on what the species of the Yangtze River eat, and do will be in Species below.

Food Webs are what keeps track of what eats what in the Yangtze River. It also shows how energy is transferred in the Yangtze River, which is an important key factor to keep the Yangtze River alive. Although there are a lot of problems interfering with Yangtze River, species need each other in order to live. More specific detail will be in Food Web below.
